Forget about chemicals, just the taste will put you off this product. Amul is a reputed brand and does have some good products but this packaged basundi is not one of them. Basundi is high fat, high sugar and if you want to indulge in it, then you might as well treat yourself to the real thing. Make it at home or get it from a local dairy.
Any milk product that needs no refrigeration until opened is a sure sign that there are plenty of preservatives. Permitted stabilizers and emulsifiers are just that. “Natural identical flavouring” is on the ingredient list — what does that mean? Its marketing doublespeak that actually means –FAKE. Basundi needs quite a bit of kesar and elaichi, both expensive so artificial tasting ingredients are cheaper substitutes.
Bottom Line: Avoid
